Writing a Blog

Welcome to my Blog! Here you are going to get instructions on what you must have in your own blog.

Our blogs will consist of three main parts.

1. You will write a three paragraph essay on a part of the Holocaust that you have researched. This is something that interests you. Your paragraph will explain what it is and give important facts about it. It can be a continuation of your poster made in class. Maybe you saw a poster that interested you. It can be something we have talked about in class.

Examples are: Hitler, concentration camps, Holocaust survivors, Nazi soldiers, World War II, Allies, Red Cross, Anne Frank, Elie Wiesel, gas chambers, death marches, children of the Holocaust, Jewish Religion.

You can also come up with other ideas. You can search for ideas on the web.

You must have your topic approved by Miss Miers before you begin.

2. Your blog will contain a short summary of the book Night. You will need to include:

• Title and Author
• Setting - Place and Time
• Main Characters
• Plot - What happened
• Theme - What was the main idea of the book

3. Your blog will also include your ideas, thoughts, questions and opinions on what we are doing in class. Miss Miers will direct you to what to write about.

Each part of your blog will be graded. Remember to listen carefully and follow the directions in the computer lab - or that will affect your grade! Keep the noise down and remember when to put your headphones on!
