OBJECTIVE: Students will review reading from class novel. Students will research the city of Harlem, the novel's setting. Students will practice spelling. Students will develop typing skills.
Do this: Answer the following questions in Microsoft Word. Make sure that you have put your name on this paper. Print the paper and then turn it into Miss Miers.
1. Would you rather read alone or with someone?
2. Would you like to bring the book home to read?
3. Would you rather read in a group of 3 to 4 or with just one partner?
4. What classmate do you work best with and why?
5. What is the second classmate you work best with and why?
6. What is one thing that you would like to do as a project with this book?
7. Would you like to go to the book fair?
8. Would you buy something at the book fair?
Do this: In your blog, write a one paragraph summary of what you have read in the book so far.
Do this: In your blog, write about one character that in is the book. Describe who they are and what their role is in the book. Are they a major or minor character?
Do this: Find a picture of someone that you thinks looks like this character. Post it in your blog.
Do this: The setting of this book is Harlem, NY. What can you tell me about Harlem? Research this city. Post 5 facts about this city in your blog.
Do this: Post a picture of Harlem in your blog.
Do this: Post the definitions for the vocabulary words in your blog that we learned yesterday. You may use your own words to define the words.
